Who's A Bartender...I think It's Me!!

Ok, so I kind of ruined the surprise, but I recently got a job. I'm a bartender (mostly busboy) at this club called Steps in Sakae. It was really serendipitous. I hung out with some guys and they took me to a couple of bars. Then, I said that I was sorta tired and was going to go home. Luckily, they told me this was the last bar they were going to and that it had a really nice atmosphere. So I went and fell in love with the place. There were two girls working the bar--Nadia (black girl from France) and Mary (Japanese girl). They were so beautiful, nice, and talented. As soon as I got there we started joking around and clicked. I asked Mary if her job was hard and she asked me if I wanted to try. I said yes, thinking that she would just let me make a drink. And she totally came back to me and said that I had an interview at 7 the next day. And after that, I came to the interview and started 9pm that night. This will be my 4th time working. It's sometimes a hard job, but really fun. I get to hang out with the customers and have met a lot of great people. Plus, this'll help me with my Japanese. When Nadia first got here, she didn't speak any Japanese and now she's pretty much fluent. And we'll be here for the same amount of time--1yr--so I'm super excited.

Wish me Luck!

OMG! There's A Fire in My Room!!

lol so I recently made a boo boo. I decided to start being conscious about my spending habits. Everyday I spend money on inexpensive foods and so I figure I'll probably nickel and dime myself to death before long. My solution was to have one big shopping spree and buy all the stuff I'd need to cook. I bought oil and spices, chicken...lol safest thing you can get (inside joke), and even tempura stuff to fry random pieces of meat in.

It started off good. I made fried rice and it was totemo oishii (delicious) and then I fried some chicken. Halfway through the chicken, I turned my back and when I looked back around, there was a black cloud where the hot plate used to be. I was in shock for a second and just stood there looking at it until I realized I should probably turn it off lol. Then, all of a sudden I noticed that the fire alarm was going off. It's funny b/c the fire alarm was speaking in calm Japanese like, "Hello friend, there's a fire in your room. You might want to leave or you can just stay. Whatever you want."--not very urgent sounding at all. My RA had to talk to the security guard and she checked on me and my roommate. I thought I'd get beaten up or something for almost burning the dorm down, but she just said it was alright and left.

I can't even fry chicken...I wish my mommy was here... :( I don't need to lose anymore wait or my head will be to big for my body. I've decided to just buy stuff so that other people can cook for me. Or I'll just try again later during the day and with supervision.
